Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) | AVR SX440 | AVR for Generator Genset
The SX440 serves as a two-phase sensed Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) and integral part of brushless generator excitation systems. By monitoring voltage in the main generator winding, it adjusts power to the exciter stator, ensuring stable output voltage within specified limits despite load variations, temperature changes, and power factor shifts. Its excitation power comes from a three-phase permanent magnet generator (PMG), isolating AVR control circuits from nonlinear loads and minimizing radio frequency interference. The PMG system also enables sustained generator short circuit current. Additionally, the AVR offers droop CT connection capability, facilitating parallel operation with similarly equipped generators.
